When you need a PDF instead of a Word document, use Print in the editor's ⋯ (more) menu. It opens your browser's print dialog, where you can send the draft to a printer or save it as a PDF.

01Save as PDF

In the print dialog, change the destination to Save as PDF (Chrome), Microsoft Print to PDF (Edge), or the equivalent on your browser. The PDF reflects exactly what's on screen — the same formatting, page breaks, and layout you see in the editor.

02When to use PDF over Word

  • You're attaching the draft to an email or shared folder and don't need the recipient to edit it.
  • You're sending a final, signature-ready copy to a party who won't be redlining.
  • You need a PDF for filing or records purposes.

For anything that will be marked up or edited, send the Word version instead — see Export to Word.
